Canon 7D as a back up camera – cobourg ontario photographer

I was in the market for a new back up camera, Canon of course. You get much better workflow with two different lenses hanging around your neck during a shoot. I read and read…really not like me to investigate so deeply. I was considering another Canon 5d mark II, but this time I needed some speed in a back up camera..finally decided on the Canon 7D.  8 shots a second, new sensor, lighting fast focus, HD video recording, 18 meg images. Picked it up today…all I can say is WOW! What a camera.

cobourg portrait session – cobourg ontario photographer

I met up with Kim in cobourg for a session. We headed out around cobourg and ended up at the waterfront. The rain held off long enough for us to shoot. Just love those puffy clouds, really adds drama to the images.

belleville portrait session – cobourg ontario photographer -

Hay bales, flies and and the hot sun….oh yeah, and the lovely off camera flash to balance it all out…

Headed out east for a photo session with sarah…she asked if we could shoot across the street in the open field with hay bales. Not a problem. Don’t ya just love off camera flash!  The first image was actually the last image of our session. It was so hot sarah smiled when I asked if she’d jump in the pool for this image. If not for using off camera flash, the sky would have been so blown out and pasty white… I just love underexposing the backgrounds and lighting with flash…makes the person just pop out of the photograph. Also brings out the sky so well.
